HOW TO MAKE A TASSEL

Bought a bed runner couple of months ago and wanted to do something different with the runner that could go with the decor of the room. But I did not get a chance to do something. While going through my almirah today, i saw the bed runner and it was looking incomplete. So, I thought of making it complete and decided to make the tassels for it. This photo tutorial shows how make tassels. 

There are many other methods you can use as well as different sized objects that will give you varying results. Also, the number of times you wrap the yarn around the object will determine how full or thin your tassel will be.

These tassels are so cute and versatile, you can use them to decorate pillows or bags, make necklaces or keychains, or tie them onto your sewing scissors (or anywhere else!) They are quick and easy, you'll want to make some in every color of the rainbow.

What you will need is:

Yarn or Wool

Needle

Scissors

Now, all you have to do is:

1. Wrap your yarn around a stiff surface that is about twice the length you want your tassel to be.

2. After wrapping, gently remove the stiff base and tie the middle of the yarn securely.

3. Snip the loops of wrapped yarn open. Don’t worry about trimming it neatly just yet.

4. Wrap a piece of yarn a few times to create the ‘neck’. Trim the tassel body if necessary. And its ready.
